Practicing Denominational Leadership in a New Space

In our work with denominational leaders across North America many are aware of the levels of stirring going on as congregations seek to understand how they reconnect with their neighbourhoods and communities. A huge shift is underway just now. Congregations are beginning to ask different questions. They are trying to figure out how to move their energies from getting people to come to them to understanding how they go to be with the people of their communities in order to ask what God is already up to ahead of them.  Congregations and their leaders are starting to ask how they go on a journey of discerning what God is doing ahead of them in their communities to see how they might join with God there.

In a parallel way denominational leaders are asking us how they can effectively assist their congregations on this new journey. To that end we have planned a gathering for a limited number of denominational leaders to co-imagine and engage next steps on this journey.

This gathering will involve leaders from a variety of denominational systems in order to maximize the co-learning together – we learn best from and with one another. Each denominational leader who chooses to attend will also be asked to bring at least one other key leader with them in order to maximize the learning they bring back to their own system. Along with providing concrete steps to take back to your system this gathering will also introduce ways you can participate in ongoing learning communities with other denominational leaders.

Join us November 7-9, 2016 @ St. Paul’s Bloor Street, Toronto, Ontario with TMN’s  Alan Roxburgh & John McLaverty. Visit our event page for more information or contact us.
